Child: A Study Guide |

Suggested Activities for Quick and the Dead
- We are given an understanding of what Ginnie is thinking and feeling
on the ride from the dock to the graveyard. Have your students discuss
what her daughter and son might be thinking and feeling during this same
time.
- Ephraim selects a biblical text to commemorate Ginnie's escape from
slavery. Ask your students to locate and share a reading that they feel
would be appropriate for this event.
- Have your students read the handouts on burial customs. Have them
create a spirit jar to celebrate the life of someone they knew or read
about who is no longer alive.
