Ever wish you could have a private screening of a great new movie with your friends and family at a local theater? Now’s your chance, book lovers!

The Free Library is proud to partner with Dreamworks' Animation for MEGAREAD, an event presented in conjunction with the MEGMIND movie in theaters November 5. Children and teens age 17 and under can enter to have the chance to win a free MEGAMIND screening for themselves and 50 friends at a local theater by reading 5 books between October 19 and November 19. (Please see the entry form for restrictions.)

To enter, simply pick up an entry form at your local Free Library branch, fill in the names of the books you’ve been reading, have it signed by a parent or guardian, and return the slip to the Library. Forms will be available beginning on Tuesday, October 19. Representatives from Dreamworks' Animation will conduct a raffle with one winner receiving this grand prize!

Winners will be notified by a Dreamworks' Animation representative no later than November 29, so get reading!

Head over to Parkway Central Library on Friday, June 2, at 2 p.m. for a special screening of Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief in the Montgomery Auditorium.

The film, based on the book of the same name by Rick Riordan, chronicles the adventures of Percy Jackson, who has not only discovered he is the son of the Greek god Poseidon, but has also found that the beings of Greek mythology are alive and well. Riordan’s popular Percy Jackson series is composed of five novels, all of which are available to borrow from the Free Library of Philadelphia. So if you love The Lightning Thief, be sure to check out the other books in the series!
