A Novel Idea: A Benefit for the Free Library
Children's Book World, Haverford, PA
Cost: FREE
Please join us for A NOVEL IDEA, a benefit for the Free Library of Philadelphia, on Sunday, November 22nd from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Last year, the materials budget for the Free Library of Philadelphia's 54-branch system was drastically cut, severely hurting our ability to purchase new books, DVDs, and CDs. Fortunately, members of the community stepped in with donations that allowed the Library to buy new books for the children and teens who rely on the Free Library to help them maintain their appropriate literacy level.
The Library's book budget is unlikely to be restored this year. Your purchases during A NOVEL IDEA can make a difference. Children’s Book World will donate 20 percent of proceeds from purchases made during A NOVEL IDEA to the Free Library of Philadelphia to support the purchase of new materials for children and teens.
Joining us from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. will be an unprecedented number of distinguished young adult authors, including Laurie Halse Anderson, T.A. Barron, Sara Dessen, Steve Kluger, Justine Larbalestier, David Levithan, Lauren Myracle, and Scott Westerfeld. They look forward to meeting you and signing your books!
Please note: Jay Asher's will not appear at this event as originally scheduled.
Please be advised that because this is a benefit—only books purchased at Children's Book World the day of the event will be signed.
