Amanda Bennett | The Cost of Hope Recorded 6/14/2012 Listen to MP3 audio
Noted for her leadership in investigative journalism, former Philadelphia Inquirer editor Amanda Bennett received her first shared Pulitzer Prize in 1997 for coverage of the AIDS crisis, and in 2001 she led a team to a Pulitzer for Public Service, reporting on problems within the U.S. Immigration and Nationalization Service. Currently an executive editor at Bloomberg News directing special projects and investigations, Bennett was a Wall Street Journal reporter for more than 20 years, and served as co-chair of the Pulitzer Prize Board. The Cost of Hope is a powerful memoir about her long marriage to Terence Foley, his battle with kidney cancer, and the bewildering intricacies of the U.S. healthcare system.
