Welcome to Summer Reading for Kids!

This year, Summer Reading at the Free Library has a big challenge just for you! We dare you to read as much as you can all summer long so that, together, we read a whopping total of 20 million minutes! We need everyone to help us reach this towering goal, and we know we can count on you. Sign up for our special Summer Reading: 20-Million-Minute Challenge and start reading today!

Families with children from birth through 6th Grade can sign up at their neighborhood Free Library location and start a reading game board. The more they read, the more stickers they earn and the faster they move across the gameboard! They can also earn stickers for checking out and returning Library materials or by participating in special activities. Download our flyer for more info!

Online Summer Reading for Kids

Be a part of Summer Reading no matter where you are! All you need is your own Free Library card! Signing up is easy: Click the sign-up link, answer a few short questions, enter your library card number, and you're ready to play the Online Summer Reading game. Write book reviews for a chance to win prizes! Each book review you submit enters you into the drawing for a prize. You can also keep track of the books and magazines you read, CDs you listen to, and DVDs you watch this summer by creating a personal log. You can even set up a "Books I Would Like to Read" list from other reviews that sound exciting!

Online Summer Reading begins June 1st and runs through August 31st, 2013
