THE FREE LIBRARY OF PHILADELPHIA FOUNDATION:

The Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that supports the city of Philadelphia’s public library system.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Corporate Relations Manager is responsible for the strategy, solicitation, acquisition and stewardship of corporate donors to the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation.  This position will be responsible for the attainment of revenue goals that include corporate foundation grants, program sponsorships, and support for fundraising events.  This individual will be responsible for EITC fundraising strategies and success.  The Manager will oversee the Foundation’s use of corporate logos and other branding to ensure compliance and will manage the website and social media strategies around corporate fundraising.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Corporate Relations Manager:

  • Envisions, implements, and directs mutually agreed upon strategy for outreach, cultivation, and solicitation, to meet revenue goals and to ensure continued growth in the area of corporate fundraising for the Free Library.
  • Monitors the accuracy and timely acknowledgement of donors and the fulfillment of appropriate benefits.
  • Cultivates and stewards current corporate donors with the goal of increasing giving.
  • Attends meetings, conferences, and events to meet and cultivate relationships with prospects.
  • Develops an awareness campaign for corporate giving and creates assets for annual outreach. Develops quarterly communication strategy to keep corporate donors and prospects informed about Library services and impact.
  • Develops an awareness campaign for EITC giving, oversees the Foundation’s relationship with the government office and is responsible for all reporting responsibilities. 
  • Creates all corporate giving assets.
  • Maintains the integrity of corporate records in Altru database.
  • Oversees the Foundation’s use of corporate logos and other branding, ensuring compliance with corporate guidelines.  Maintains corporate recognition platforms on the Library’s website, development reports, and social media outlets.
  • Responsible for board reporting on corporate fundraising as assigned.
  • With development leadership, sets revenue goals for the gala, develops sponsorship packet and strategy for corporate fundraising in support of the event. 
  • Manages volunteers as they advocate and support development efforts to expand corporate engagement.  Identifies board roles in supporting corporate development and work with the SVP to engage board members in this work.
  • With the Director, develops and manages the expense budget for his /her programs and for those under his/her supervision.
  • Attends development events to welcome donors and cultivate relationships.
  • Researches and identifies corporate affiliations of major gift donors and members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience in corporate fundraising.
  • Familiarity with the Greater Philadelphia corporate community.
  • Experience in creating and monitoring revenue and expense budgets.
  • Experience in prospect research, donor cultivation, solicitation, and corporate fundraising strategies.
  • Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of Blackbaud’s Altru or Raiser’s Edge, or similar fundraising program. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of three years of progressive development experience and a proven record of success.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
