Knife Skills Class: Summer Panzanella
Virtual
Let us teach you basic knife skills so that you can become a chopping whiz! Summer's bounty brings with it a myriad of vegetables and fruit that need almost nothing to make the flavors shine. In this class we will learn the basics of dicing (small, medium, large), a few ways to chop an onion, mince a shallot and garlic, chiffonade fresh herbs, slice squash and tomatoes, and julienne bell peppers. This introduction will culminate in the creation of a summer panzanella salad that is delicious, versatile and inexpensive to make!
Tickets for the program are $10 per household and can be purchased via Eventbrite. Participants will receive a grocery and equipment list a week prior, for those who would like to cook along.
Please note that SNAP eligible participants may be provided with a free ticket, with advance communication. Please email kitchen@freelibrary.org to reserve a ticket, no questions asked.
