Jericho Brown's collection of poems, The Tradition, presents opportunities for readers to utilize this book to do intersectional antiracist work through the lens of art. To support the public, family, and classroom discussions taking place during the One Book season, Philly teachers Keziah Ridgeway and Charlie McGeehan from the Racial Justice Organizing Committee, and Philly student Sheyla Street will facilitate an interactive session on navigating conversations about racism using an intersectional approach.

All are welcome to join this two-hour virtual session— teachers, students, librarians, readers, organizational leaders, parents—anyone interested in developing the tools and awareness to have more informed, critical conversations about racism. Participants are invited to check out a copy of The Tradition from the Free Library.

Please visit Building Antiracist White Educators (BARWE) and the Melanated Educators Collective (MEC) to learn more about the facilitators of this event.

Registered participants will receive a Zoom event link. This session will be offered twice, once on March 13 and once on March 18--please only register for one session. Register here.
