In this writing workshop led by Andrea Walls, we will do a deep read of Jericho Brown's title poem from his collection, "The Tradition".
Starting with the premise that reading and writing poetry is a collaborative and interactive process between reader and writer, we will examine personal lexicons, experiences, and identities as a foundation from which to build an expansive understanding of the text, then engage together in a writing prompt.
No writing experience is needed to participate in this workshop. Andrea Walls is a poet and photographer currently in residence at the Free Library as a Chronicling Resistance Fellow.
