Friendship & Charity | In-Person Behind the Bookcase
The Rosenbach
Shortly before the beginning of World War Two, Dr. A.S.W. Rosenbach hosted a charity rare book auction to benefit European refugees. The sum he and friends raised through this interfaith endeavor would be more than half a million today. In the spirit of our founder’s philanthropy The Rosenbach invites you to explore the little-known stories of friendship, good will, and charity found in our halls and galleries. Kick off your festive winter season with a heartwarming evening at The Rosenbach as we share tales of friendship and charity from our portraits, letters, books, and other treasures. If our collections could talk, they would have much to say about the virtues of kindness and human connection.
Beginning on September 1, Rosenbach visitors and program attendees must show proof of vaccination along with all staff members and volunteers.
