Theoretical physicist and mathematician Leonard Mlodinow is the author of several “delightfully entertaining” (Scientific American) bestselling books, including Subliminal: How Your Unconscious Mind Rules Your Behavior, The Drunkard’s Walk: How Randomness Rules Our Lives, and Elastic: Unlocking Your Brain’s Ability to Embrace Change. He also co-authored The Grand Design and A Briefer History of Time with Stephen Hawking. An Alexander von Humboldt fellow at the Max Planck Institute, Mlodinow has earned the PEN/E.O. Wilson Literary Science Writing Award, has written two children’s books, and is widely known through a variety of public lectures and media appearances. His latest book combines analysis of human evolution and biology with vivid stories to offer resources to better understand how emotions can help or hurt us.
Michael Shermer is the host of the podcast The Michael Shermer Show, the founding publisher of Skeptic magazine, and is a presidential fellow at Chapman University. A former longtime columnist for Scientific American, he is the author the New York Times bestsellers Why People Believe Weird Things and The Believing Brain, among several other books.
