Philadelphia City Institute
Join your neighbors to watch and discuss with experts and community leaders the crucial eighth episode of the award winning Philly D.A. docu-series.
As many activists call for public safety solutions outside of the criminal legal system, we will discuss what that looks like, while highlighting advocates addressing issues such as cash bail from a community oriented standpoint. We’ll share existing resources and hear from people imagining new paths forward.
Episode 8 synopsis (watch clip) : Krasner recruits law students to become the next generation of prosecutors. The local activists who campaigned for Krasner’s election are frustrated by the pace of change. Krasner’s team faces the limits of their power to end cash bail, while the new cohort of prosecutors, including former police officer Pernell Jackson, look to reimagine the office.
