This free workshop is part of a series made possible by a partnership between the Free Library's Art Department and the Philadelphia Center for the Book. Due to the popularity of these free classes we are unable to admit everyone who expresses interest. In order to expand access we will randomize final selection of participants instead of first come, first admitted. For questions please contact the Art Department at 215-686-5403 or by emailing erefart@freelibrary.org.
Ramon Townsend was taught traditional binding and its related crafts in the 1970s and 80s while working at the Colonial Williamsburg Printing Office & Bindery. After leaving the shop he continued teaching, making and repairing books and marbling through his Philadelphia based business, Colonial Bindery.
