Germantown Abolitionists and the Emancipation Proclamation
Lovett Memorial Library
Take a look at the abolition work being done locally at the time of the passing of the Emancipation Proclaimation (1863). Biographical posters of influencial abolitionists in Germantown/Mt. Airy will be displayed around the library, as well as posters about inventors and inventions contemporary with the time. We will have a scavenger hunt to search for answers from the posters. Drop in and browse on your own, or call ahead to schedule a tour. Please call ahead if you are interested in bringing a class.
