Today’s Talented Troubadours
Senior Services at Parkway Central Library
Music is a pathway to happiness and a connection to cherished memories. For older adults, the music that resonates most often includes the folk songs of Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins, Odetta, Phil Ochs, Bob Dylan, Gordon Lightfoot, Pete Seeger, and others. Unfortunately, many of these iconic figures have either retired or passed away. The question now is, who will represent the new generation of folk singers and performers to carry on this timeless art? To find answers, we consulted Kate Gaffney, a professional folk singer with over 20 years of experience performing in clubs and concert venues along the West Coast. She recently returned to her home in Pennsylvania and currently serves as a board member of the Philadelphia Folksong Society.
Join us on Wednesday, May 14th, at 11:00 A.M., as Kate Gaffney introduces us to three up-and-coming artists that everyone should know!
