Protest Plates: Plant-Based Cooking for Social Change
Parkway Central Library
As sustenance for protest and soundtracks to resistance, food and music have the power to bring folks together, comfort, and agitate during dire times.
In this plant-based hands-on cooking class, music librarian Perry + Food and Culture Educator Shivon will explore social change through the intersections of food and music. Peace punks and woke hip-hop heads converge to explore connections between practicing conscious harmlessness towards animals and struggling for essential human rights and liberties for humans. While creating several dishes using staple plant-based ingredients, we'll jam to an A Side / B Side soundtrack of punk and hip hop to help fill out the helpings on our Protest Plates.
Tickets are $5 per person. Registeration required via Eventbrite.
