As you commence researching your family’s history, are you finding it difficult to navigate and use the databases that are available to you at the Free Library of Philadelphia? This class is designed to provide an introduction to these databases, as well as demonstrate the basic searching practices needed to navigate each database successfully. Coverage will include HeritageQuest Online, The Philadelphia Inquirer Digital Archive 1860-2001, America’s Obituaries and Death Notices, and Pennsylvania Historical Newspapers 1790-1922. Class instruction will also demonstrate how to access and use the Pennsylvania State Archives’ free access to Ancestry.com Pennsylvania.
Genealogy 101 will be held in the Tech Lab at Parkway Central Branch, Room 15 on the Ground Floor.
