Nonprofit Nerds Meetup: How to Engage Your Elected Officials to Advance Your Cause
Mon, January 22, 2018 6:00 P.M.
Regional Foundation Center at
Parkway Central Library
Partnering with an elected official is a great way to get the word out about a cause that is urgent and deserves greater awareness. But how does one connect with them and convince them to become an advocate for the cause?
This special session, presented by Stephanie Thome of local software firm Azavea, will share tips about interacting directly with elected officials, both for individuals and organizations, and also touch on topics related to building successful grassroots campaigns. Azavea has connected with hundreds of legislators over the years in an effort to help nonprofits with advocacy work, and this session will empower Nonprofit Nerd with best practices that come directly from elected officials and their staff members. This is one session not to be missed!
The Nonprofit Nerds Meetup is a bi-monthly meetup led by Marta Rusek and hosted by the Regional Foundation Center.
Online registration is required.
