Unlocking Your Inner Composer Workshop 1, Series 3 with Tyshawn Sorey: Germantown
Sat, May 19, 2018 12:00 P.M.
Joseph E. Coleman Northwest Regional Library
Unlocking Your Inner Composer is a series of free workshops. Compose your own music and explore the sonic possibilities of saxophones and percussion!
The workshops precede Color Theory 2.0, a free concert by PRISM Quartet and composer/percussionists Susie Ibarra and Tyshawn Sorey.
Workshops are open to teens and adults at all levels, whether you have no musical training/compositional experience, or you’re a pro in search of new techniques and challenges. You don’t need to know how to read music. Workshops will culminate in performances of participants’ compositions. Bring your own instrument or borrow one from the Parkway Central Library music department.
Unlocking Your Inner Composer consists of three workshops in this series.
Space is limited. Participants are required to attend all three workshops within their series. Registration ends April 11. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
Other Workshops in this series are listed below. You are required to attend all three.
1. Wednesday, May 23, 2018: 5:30 – 6:30 PM
2. Tuesday, May 29, 2018: 5:30 – 6:30 PM performance of Series 2 participant works
