This Is What Democracy Reads Like: A Conversation with Wilson Goode

Join a conversation with the Honorable W. Wilson Goode, former mayor of Philadelphia, about his new book Black Voters Mattered: A Philadelphia Story. Dr. Goode will talk about how essential voting and elections are to our communities. Learn the history of an era of black empowerment in Philadelphia between the 1960s and 19080s and discuss the importance of civic participation in advance of the 2018 midterm elections.
Dr. Goode will be speaking as part of the Free Library's system-wide #midtermsmatter programs. Learn how midterm elections will shape polices that affect all Philadelphians, while connecting with art, books, dance, film, and food. Don't forget to register to vote by October 9 and to visit your local polling place to vote on November 6.
