Uncle Bobbie’s Friday Night Film: Daughters of the Dust

Fri, January 25, 2019 7:00 P.M.
The People's Education Center, 5445 Germantown Ave.

In Julie Dash’s classic film set in 1902, a family in the Gullah community off the coast of South Carolina keeps ancestral rituals and customs of West Africa alive. As the younger generation prepares to make the journey to the mainland, the family faces a crossroads between past and future. Stay for a talkback after the screening and enjoy treats from Uncle Bobbie’s Coffee & Books. For more information, call 215-403-7058.
