Do the Right Thing: Screening and Seminar

Thu, January 31, 2019 6:30 P.M.
Bryn Mawr Film Institute, 824 W. Lancaster Ave.

Bursting with the spirit of protest, Spike Lee’s landmark film follows the residents of a single Bed-Stuy block as they try to stay cool as the neighborhood's racial tensions come to a boil during the hottest day of the summer. In conjunction with the 7:15 p.m. screening, instructor Usame Tunagur, Ph.D., will lead a Cinema Classics Seminar at 6:30 p.m. Purchase tickets to the film or film-and-seminar online or at the door.

This One Book, One Philadelphia event explores themes in the 2019 featured selection, Sing, Unburied, Sing, by Jesmyn Ward.
