The Battle of the Alamo was a pivotal event in the Texas Revolution. On March 6, 1837, Mexican troops under General Santa Anna de Lopez launched a pre-dawn attack that killed all the defenders in the Alamo Mission near San Antonio de Bexar. One of the great mysteries of the Alamo was whether noted frontiersman David Crockett was killed in the assault or loved to be executed by General Santa Anna. This program will examine the mystery of Crockett’s death and how and why he became a legend.
