Book Arts Workshop: The Nag Hammadi for Paper Lovers

In this workshop, students will learn about the 2nd century Egyptian binding, the Nag Hammadi. Students will learn how these books were traditionally constructed and will recreate the binding entirely with paper.
Candy Alexandra González is a Philly-based, Latinx artist and poet from Miami, Fl. Candy received her MFA in Book Arts + Printmaking from The University of the Arts in 2017. Candy’s art works captures the essence of her experience as a first-generation immigrant in the United States.
This free workshop will take place 10 AM - 1 PM, in the Art Department, 2nd floor of the Parkway Central Library
The Art Department partners with the Philadelphia Center for the Book to bring free book arts workshops to Parkway Central every month from September to May. Space in these popular classes is limited; registration for this class will open on January 30th, 2019 at noon and is required to attend:
