Singing Whitman: Songs from the Drinker Collection with Craft Works Music
The Rosenbach
Working in conjunction with the Free Library of Philadelphia’s archives, Craft Works Music, in partnership with the Rosenbach Museum, presents a program of choral works drawn from the Drinker Collection set to and inspired by the poetry of American Transcendentalist Walt Whitman. This program, celebrating the bicentennial of the poet’s birth, explores the legacy of Whitman and his enduring presence in art and music. Come enjoy the offerings of the guest speaker and the singers of Craft Works.
Craft Works Music is your all natural, hand crafted, minimally processed music fix. Founded in Philadelphia in 2017, Craft Works develops, discusses, and performs music from all eras, genres, and cultures, mainly in the choral repertoire. The ensemble explores and collaborates with other musicians and experts about the process of crafting music and we share this via podcast and live events.
