Paul Steinke, Executive Director of the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia, will discuss the challenges of historic preservation in a growing city with a robust development climate. He will give an overview of the Alliance’s work, and highlight gains and losses in terms of the preservation of historic buildings, including the unresolved issue of Jewelers Row.
A lifelong Philadelphian, Paul Steinke holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Economics from Pennsylvania State University, and pursued an MBA at Drexel University. He became Executive Director of the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia in 2016 after serving on the board of directors for several years. He also was a founding staff member of both the Center City District and the University City District.
This program is co-sponsored by Friends in the City (FitC) and the Philadelphia City Institute Library. It will be held in the meeting room on the library’s lower level and we regret there is no elevator.
