It's time to get back in the studio! Vadim K of Calm Frog Recording continues this exciting session of DIY Recording - which seeks to democratize the recording process by educating, equipping and empowering the DIY recording community.
This session will first announce the winner of the mix contest! The mix contest is a competition of mixing audio tracks into one final mix! If you're interested in participating in the contest, it's not too late! Email Vadim here for more information.
During this meetup :
- We'll announce the winner(s) of the mix contest, listen to their mix and do a quick Q&A with them to understand how they went about it.
- Look at how to spice up your mix without using any fancy plug-ins. Some examples include: reverse reverb cymbal and vocal effects, stereo widening tricks, adding a 3rd dimension to your mix by using reverbs and delays, parallel processing for subtle effects, bus processing.
- Talk about our favorite plug-ins: What are plug-ins? which ones are worth the investment? How many plug-ins do you have? How many do you use regularly?
Join DIY Recording for their meetups in the Music Department of the Parkway Central Library. Visit them at their website here, and read our (2016) interview here.
