WOW! Wednesdays of Wonder: City Love
Wed, June 26, 2019 11:00 A.M.
Children's Department at
Parkway Central Library
Wednesdays of Wonder in Montgomery Auditorium. Part of the Margaret S. Halloran Family Literacy Program Series.
Music for the World We Need - City Love (Sterling Duns and Caselli Jordan) is a West Philly social justice music and education duo. From the heart. For the people. We are educators and musicians who write songs to spread the love and hope, bring people together, and paint a tangible vision of Dr. King’s ‘Beloved Community’. We will share songs from our new children's album, The Future Is Bright, about celebrating our differences, fairness, self-love, and love for our community. Come dance, sing, and talk about what we can all do to make the world we need.
City Love has shared performances and workshops at schools, colleges and conferences across the country for the past five years. They were this year's Friends in Residence at Haverford College, and were chosen as the 2019-2020 Equity in Action Grant winners through the Association of Delaware Valley Independent Schools. Sterling Duns (aka Dwight Dunston) is the Coordinator of Equity and Justice Studies at Friends Central School and Brian Caselli Jordan is an Associate Kindergarten Teacher at The Philadelphia School.
Children ages infant to 11 and families/caregivers. Camp, school, and childcare groups are welcome. No registration or tickets required.
