Sat, February 29, 2020 11:00 A.M.
Culinary Literacy Center at
Parkway Central Library
Learn the French art of making puffs (Pâte à Choux) through this demonstration led by pastry chef Jacqueline Jones. Tastings included.
Choux pastry, or pâte à choux, is a light pastry dough used in many pastries. It contains only butter, water, flour and eggs. Instead of a raising agent, it employs high moisture content to create steam during cooking to puff the pastry. The pastry is used in many European and European-derived cuisines. Learn how to make puffs at home and leave with a recipe to try out on your own. Tastings included.
Pre-registration is required; tickets are $15 per person via Eventbrite. SNAP eligible participants are provided with a free ticket, with advance communication. Please call the Culinary Literacy Center at (215) 686-5323 to receive one of these reserved tickets, no questions asked. For more information, email email@example.com.
