Title: Cord Berline - 1937
Automobile Reference Collection
The Owner-Chauffeur Driven Cord Berline
Here is an unusually smart two-purpose car that is in perfect taste. The Cord Berline is built on 132-inch wheelbase providing ample room in front and rear compartments. The partition glass disappears completely into the back of the front seat when not in use and the car becomes a regular sedan. The interior is rich and luxurious, with many utilitarian features. The upholstery treatment is different. Seats and backs are in three-pillow design effect in broadcloth of the same color as the exterior finish. The car shown is in a Geneva Blue exterior and Imperial blue upholstery, headlining, trim and accessories. A conservative use of mouldings and edgings in chrome relieves any possibility of monotony in color and adds to the richness of the car’s interior. The Berline is obtainable also with finish panel on the back of the front seat. In the center of this panel are two five-inch dials, one holding the telephone and the other the rear compartment radio speaker. These dials are covered with a material similar in color to the upholstery and edged with chrome. Directly above them is a cigar lighter and below is the crank for the operating the partition glass. On each end of the panel is a compartment for cigarettes and powder compact. Other interesting interior treatments obtainable are: all broadcloth upholstery or broadcloth in rear compartment and leather in front.
