Understanding the Affordable Care Act

The 2016-2017 open enrollment period for choosing health insurance coverage through the federal Marketplace has ended. But if you have a special circumstance, you may still be able to apply. If you or someone in your household lost insurance, got married, had a baby, had a change of income, or some other special circumstance, you may still qualify. Fill out this brief survey to find out.

Depending on your income, you may qualify for Medicaid or CHIP. You can find more info on Healhcare.gov by choosing the option:
See if you may qualify for Medicaid or CHIP.

If you do qualify for Medicaid or CHIP, you can call one of the Free Library's healthcare expert partners for additonal help.

You may have heard in the news that Congress is seeking to change the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). This process is still underway, and until then, the Free Library will continue to work with our partners to provide information and enrollment services to the public. If changes do come, we plan to hold information sessions for the public. Check back here for details.
