In conversation with Adam Grant, bestselling author of Originals, Give and Take, and most recently Think Again: The Power of Knowing What You Don't Know

Shankar Vedantam is the author of the New York Times bestseller The Hidden Brain, a combination of narrative storytelling and scientific reporting that looks at how our unconscious biases color our perception of reality and influence our decisions. Also the host of a popular Hidden Brain radio show and podcast, Vedantam is NPR’s social science correspondent and a former longtime reporter at the Washington Post. He is the recipient of the Edward R. Murrow Award, served as a fellow at the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University, and was honored by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In Useful Delusions, Vedantam offers a counterintuitive examination of self-deception’s ability to make our lives better.
