Sun, November 10, 2019 2:30 P.M.
South Philadelphia Library

Cost: FREE

Join the Free Library of Philadelphia and First Person Arts for a festival series of poetry readings and story circles that lift up stories of migration and put storytelling at the heart of the library. Hear some of the most dynamic poets of our day explore what it means to leave one home to make another in a new place, then share your own story in a circle of neighbors.

A reading by poet Taylor Mali will be followed by a facilitated story circle and book signing. Slam poet Taylor Mali is the author of What Learning Leaves (2002), The Last Time As We Are (2009), and Bouquet of Red Flags (2014); the poem and essay What Teachers Make: In Praise of the Greatest Job in the World (2012); and the one-man play Teacher! Teacher!, for which he won the jury prize for best solo performance at the 2001 Comedy Arts Festival.
