Celebrating its 17th year in 2019, One Book, One Philadelphia is a signature event of the Free Library of Philadelphia that promotes literacy, library usage, and citywide conversation by encouraging the entire greater Philadelphia area to come together through reading and discussing a single book.
From January 16 to March 13, nearly 100 events and programs will center on the 2017 National Book Award-winning novel, Sing, Unburied Sing by Jesmyn Ward.
In addition to featuring one adult companion title and two youth companion titles to complement and enrich discussions, One Book, One Philadelphia will also present a diversity of author voices through recommended reading lists of young adult and children's books that connect with themes in the featured books.
