Harry Potter's Top of the Pops 1980 - 1999

This is really weird, but the Music Department got a call from Nicola Sturgeon, First Minister of Scotland, to come look through a mysterious box found in a dormitory room in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Scotland. It was a great trip! Inside the box we made an amazing discovery. There was a neatly wrapped and bowed present containing a cassette mix tape titled “HP’s Top of the Pops”. Apparently, the room belonged to a student named Hermione Jean Granger. After listening to the full 90 minutes, we have determined that every artist on it performed on the UK television show, Top of the Pops, at some point between the years 1980 and 1999. We know Potter was born in 1980, and that he and Granger would have completed “Seventh Year” before 1999. But so did a lot of great acts... what links these particular performers?  What we suspect, but are far from certain, is that this is a crush tape:
