#LoveTheLibrary: What Do You Love About YOUR Local Library?

By Kate C. RSS Wed, February 1, 2017

It’s February, cupid is dusting off his bow and arrow, and those chalky-but-delicious conversation hearts are lining supermarket shelves.

With love already in the air, we thought it would be a great time to channel those lovey-dovey feelings and find out why you love your local library, whether it’s a Free Library location or another one altogether. What do you love most about visiting? What do you most often use the library for? How do you feel when you walk through the front door? What has the library taught you?

Throughout this month, we’ll be asking those questions via our social media accounts using the hashtag #LoveTheLibrary. We hope you’ll share your responses with us, in words, images, or both, and we’ll share our favorites!

Follow the Free Library on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram today!

I love that the library is within somewhat easy walking distance of my house, and that most everything in it I can use for free. By the way I don't have any social media account but an email address.

whenever I need an answer to a problem/issue/challenge, I go to the library for answer. There is always a book/dvd on the subject.

The tall black man at the front desk needs for someone to talk to him he is very loud and it makes no sense the workers stand at the desk and have loud conversations it is not like that at other libraries I always thought that you were suppose to be quiet at the libarary not at this branch I can concentrate im on the computer

Fumo Branch is small and cozy, warm an familiar, just like home. The staff attention is great, they made you feel welcome and are very nice and attentive. It has great activities for the children too. Great selection of books and movies for all ages.

The kids area in Thomas Donatucci is wonderful, like a playground, with the big cushion and puppets. In summer is great to just grab a book and sit on the garden to read. The garden is a great attractive, and they also had activities there. Staff is also very nice, especially when housing any activity for kids and families. They have a big place so areas are well separated in 3 spaces: kids, adults, and the computer space with the research books. The selection of children's books is huge, and they always get the new titles right away.

This location is close to my home and is always well stocked with good CDs and movies. I also put books on hold and always find them when available for pickup. The staff are very friendly and always helpful. I use the computers and printer which are always in good working order. Also the security guard is friendly and helpful. Thanks Santore Branch

I love my local library. The entire staff is very friendly and attentive. Even the guard (Elijah) always keeps a smile on his face. I often find what I am looking for but in the case of needing to order, it usually arrives without any hassles. I go , I talk, I pick up dvd's & books. I read with my sons , get on the computer, print doucuments but I can't leave. LOL Really great people

We have the greatest "friendship" with the Torresdale Branch. They educate the children while we let them have fun at the same time. We couldn't ask for a better neighborhood relationship!!

I was recently at the Torresdale Branch and just had to comment on what a wonderful staff the Philadelphia Library has going on at that branch. Very helpful and friendly staff; they really seem to care about the those of us who use this branch. They're always there to help out in finding whatever information it is I am searching for. Terrific job they're doing at the Torresdale Branch Library.

I love the local Torresdale Branch! I teach at a nearby elementary school and we have worked together to start a Kindergarten Book Club. The library has been a wonderful resource for our students. They have sparked the love of reading in all of our kindergarteners. The library has made access to library cards easy- they brought them to us!. We constantly teach the students of the wonderful things the library has to offer. Ann Hornbach has been the best thing to happen to our kids!! Thank you!!!

I love the local Torresdale Branch as they are the most friendliest, helpful, informative group of folks I had the pleasure work with as a volunteer! The programs they provide to the public is so useful and fun too!

The entire staff at the Torresdale branch of the library is fantastic! Ann is a dynamic support for individuals with Autism, particularly students. The library conducts a variety of events throughout the year on all topics. They are a wealth of information and happy to help in any capacity.

The librarians at Greater Olney Library are the best; they are so helpful and can help you with anything you need. There is always some event going on in this little library.

What can I say about how awesome libraries are that you don't already know? They are home to books, possibly the most universally loved thing in the entire world. Have you ever heard of somebody arguing that books don't make you smarter? That they don't make you wiser or that they make you lazy? Nobody makes these arguments because they are so clearly not true.https://babyishcare.com/kids-bow-and-arrow/
