Eastwick Library has a new garden thanks to Bartram’s Garden and our area children. In partnership with Leslie Gale, Bartram’s Garden's educator, children have been busy this year planning, planting, and investigating our new garden. Five beautiful rose bushes, quaint daisies, purple petunias, and other lovely plants have been planted.
Children have had fun in the garden and have learned a lot. Several children’s programs have revolved around the garden including Design a Dream Garden, Eastwick Garden Planting Day, and Bugs. Hands on garden activities for children included imagining and drawing their own dream garden, planting seeds and flowers, selecting plants, and digging for bugs and collecting bugs in cool bug catchers. We are proud of our garden and our young gardeners. Take a peek next time you visit us!
If you would like to learn more about gardening, we have lots of resources throughout our catalog from tips on gardening with kids and strategies for successful gardening to more specific topics like how best to grow heirloom vegetables or even create a garden indoors!
