What makes this year so special? We are showcasing all things culinary at the Free Library, with our precedent-setting Culinary Literacy Center as the savory centerpiece!

The mission of the CLC is to advance literacy through preparing, sharing, and tasting food around a communal table. This innovative program touches on topics like food science, budgeting at the market, and healthy lifestyles—all at the Free Library’s Parkway Central landmark location! Not to be braggarts, but we know we’ve got something special cooking because the CLC is being replicated in libraries across the globe.

What makes this year even more special? We are excited to announce that celebrated chef, TV personality, writer, and teacher Andrew Zimmern will be a special guest at Feast Your Imagination!

As a four-time James Beard Award-winner, Zimmern is regarded as one of the most versatile and knowledgeable personalities in the food world. He is also an active advocate for universal access to healthy, safe, and affordable food—concepts that perfectly complement the spirit of Feast Your Imagination and the mission of the Culinary Literacy Center.

Join us for a grand time for a great cause—all proceeds from Feast Your Imagination will support the critical services and exciting literacy programs that the Free Library offers across Philadelphia, all year round. While the City of Philadelphia provides for the operation of the Free Library’s facilities and infrastructure, many critical programs that draw people to our neighborhood libraries and foster literacy are only possible with support from generous people like you.

This spectacular event reflects a long tradition of ushering in the holiday season celebrating with our closest neighbors and supporters. We think it’s a fun and fabulous way to mark our shared accomplishments and build excitement for the year ahead.
