It’s right around the corner! Join us at Parkway Central Library on Saturday, December 14 at 7:00 p.m. for Music in the Air: A Free Library Fête. The Free Library’s annual gala will feature and showcase Parkway Central Library's Music Department, which owns one of the largest collections of music and dance materials in the country. Take part in a night filled with music, food, and fun—buy a ticket or make a donation today!
We are excited to announce the evening’s special guests: award-winning radio broadcaster David Dye and Philadelphia-based string trio Time for Three. David Dye is known best as the former host of WXPN’s nationally syndicated World Cafe for over 25 years. Called a "classically trained garage band," Time for Three has performed alone and with orchestras across the United States and in Europe.
All proceeds from the evening will go to support the Free Library of Philadelphia and its mission to advance literacy, guide learning, and inspire curiosity for Philadelphians of all ages. Part of these proceeds will go towards expanding the Free Library’s Instrument Lending Program (now over 3 years old) at Parkway Central Library as well as bringing it to select neighborhood libraries. While the City of Philadelphia provides for the operation of the Free Library’s facilities and infrastructure, many critical programs are only possible with support from generous people like you!
We can promise you a fantastic celebration of our Free Library neighbors and supporters!
