One of my favorite things about children is how they ask big questions. When adults have the same questions themselves, it can be hard to figure out how to answer in an age-appropriate manner. Library books to the rescue! Here are some ebooks you might find helpful during this time:

Germs Are Not for Sharing by Elizabeth Verdick
How can we avoid sharing germs? Let the children in this book show you how, because though sharing can be fun, germs are NOT for sharing!

Keep It Clean: Germ Free by Cecilia Minden
Teaches students how to prevent the spread of germs by washing hands and the importance of cleanup.

Those Mean Nasty Dirty Downright Disgusting but... Invisible Germs by Elizabeth Verdick
Encourage the formation of good health habits in children. Through playful and colorful illustrations, this popular children's book shows the germs that cause illness and how important hand washing is for good health!

Want more? 25 titles about germs, microbes, and personal hygiene can be found in our newest booklist: Germs Are Not for Sharing!

And don't forget to wash your hands!

For topic-specific support, the American Academy of Pediatrics has guidance on how to speak with children about COVID-19.
