The Free Library of Philadelphia is committed to advancing literacy and supporting lifelong learning for all Philadelphians. While our buildings are closed until further notice, our website gives you access to thousands of ebooks and audiobooks, as well as fantastic databases for all ages.
Last week, I was going through a box of old papers (lots of time for spring cleaning these days) and I found my old high school French binder. This reminded me of a long time (and long-neglected) goal of mine: refresh my French language skills. Today I logged into the Mango Languages database, took a placement test, and started using some of my stay-at-home time to brush up on mon français.
Mango Languages offers instruction in over 70 languages and is a fantastic resource for all skill levels. Beginners start with salutations and small talk, intermediate students can take a placement test to find the chapter that is the best fit for their skills and knowledge, and advanced speakers can explore specialized units, like Business, Medical, and Legal Spanish.
Make sure you link your Mango Languages account to your Free Library card so you can access all the lessons, videos, and flashcards for free. If you don’t have a library card, you can sign-up for an online account today!
