Learn English with the Free Library and University of Pennsylvania GSE!
By Lindsay S. Fri, September 3, 2021This fall, adults working on their English skills in Philadelphia will have several opportunities to learn and practice English with the Free Library's Languages and Learning Center and the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education.
From September through December of 2021, we will be offering free online English Language Learning programs, taught by graduate students from the University of Pennsylvania who are pursuing degrees in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
All of these classes will meet online.

Online Elementary English Class
Wednesdays from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m | September 8 - December 15
Beginner-level Learners will practice reading, writing, speaking, and listening in English.

Online Intermediate English Class
Mondays and Wednesdays | 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m | September 13 - November 20
Intermediate-level learners will practice grammar, vocabulary, and English conversation.

Intermediate Virtual English Class
Wednesdays | 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. | September 15 - December 15
Intermediate-level learners will practice grammar, vocabulary, and English conversation.

- The LLC will also offer an online Learning Circle based on the University of Pennsylvania's MOOC course, English for Career Development.
Fridays | 12:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m. | September 10 - November 19
Participants will meet online with other English language learners and practice their English skills using a free online offered by Coursera and the University of Pennsylvania.
