We are pleased to announce the launch of World Book Online, the online version of World Book Encyclopedia. It’s a great resource for children and teens and makes learning fun!

World Book Online includes encyclopedia articles, videos, animations, biographies, maps, games, and primary source databases that will provide trusted resources for homework and projects of all kinds.

There are four modules for World Book Online:

World Book Kids: Search or Browse for articles (with citations) on anything from sharks to art and architecture to Greek mythology and more. Pictures, videos, maps, illustrations, and sounds can be found on the left side of most articles. World Book Kids also includes access to science projects, dictionaries, and games.

World Book Student is for elementary school through teens. Student includes all the articles from the print versions of the World Book Encyclopedias. Research tools include My Research to save your searching results, Citation Builder to cite your research, Maps and Atlas, and a Browse by Subject tool. News and current events are broken down in Current Events: Behind the Headlines. Check out the Biography Center for thousands of biographies on your favorite scientists, celebrities, and more. Featured Media highlights interesting videos that have been recently added to World Book Student.

Timelines allow learners to view events chronologically in a single chart to better understand topics such as Westward Movement in America or the History of Rock and Roll, and other historic events, notable people, fields of scientific research and artistic movements. You can even create your own timeline, such as the story of your life, or a timeline to add to a school project.

Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos is the beginner's Spanish language reference tool. Search by keyword or browse for articles. Every article provides a bilingual feature which allows you to switch between Spanish and English content. Periodicos del Mundo Hispanico features web links to newspapers from Spanish-speaking countries around the world. Mundo de Animales (World of Animals) lets you compare animals side by side and view an extensive collection of animal facts, videos, images, and web links.

La Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos es la herramienta de referencia en español para principiantes. Busque por palabra clave o busque artículos. Cada artículo ofrece una función bilingüe que le permite cambiar entre el contenido en español e inglés. Periódicos del Mundo Hispánico presenta enlaces web a periódicos de países de habla hispana en todo el mundo. Mundo de Animales le permite comparar animales y ver una extensa colección de datos de animales, videos, imágenes y enlaces web.
