Get Involved at the 2024 Philly Civics Fair

In light of the upcoming United States Presidential Election and to conclude the "Power Up!” series, the Free Library of Philadelphia will present the 2024 Philly Civics Fair and Speakers Panel at Parkway Central Library on Saturday, September 28, beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Over two dozen local organizations including the NAACP, WHYY, the National Constitution Center, and more will set up tables with informative civics-related resources for attendees.

The fair will also include a discussion on civic engagement and democracy led by Temple University’s Dr. Aaron Smith, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Featured panelists include:

  • Commissioner Omar Sabir, City of Philadelphia 
  • Kamryn Davis, Regional Organizer, PA Youth Votes
  • Jerome Shabazz, Executive Director, Overbrook Environmental Education Center 
  • And Roland Wall, Executive Director, Patrick Center for Environmental Research, Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University

Additionally, keynote speaker Judge Sharon Williams Losier of Philadelphia’s Municipal Courts and Kelly Richards, President and Director of the Free Library, will give remarks at the event.
