We are pleased to reintroduce NoveList Plus, a longtime favorite electronic resource among book lovers.
NoveList Plus is a database designed to help readers (or listeners) find their next books or audiobooks based on the titles, authors, genres, or themes they already enjoy. It provides recommendations for all ages: 0–8, 9–12, teens, and adults.
NoveList Plus also includes:
- Read-alikes: Find new books based on ones you already love!
- Author Identities: Peruse biographical information about authors, including gender, regional, and cultural identity.
- Geographic Detail: Explore books that reflect different cultures by using author, setting, and location limiters. For example, you can browse award winners from Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or different regions of the U.S.
- Award Winners: NoveList Plus offers a single information hub highlighting over a thousand awards and prizes, including Caldecott, Pulitzer, Man Booker, Aurealis, Coretta Scott King, and more.
- Reviews: Tired of searching multiple places just to find out what people are saying about a book? NoveList Plus includes professional reviews (Booklist, Kirkus, Library Journal, Publishers Weekly, School Library Journal) as well as Goodreads ratings.
- Page to Screen: Film buffs and TV fans can browse books adapted for the screen. This list is updated throughout the year to include new releases.
- Recommended Reads: Recommended Reads lists will help you uncover gems that may not turn up in a basic search. Even better, NoveList Plus strives to include underrepresented authors or characters with at least 30% of the titles on these lists. Easily find books within a popular genre or about a specific topic.
- Book Club Best Bets: Find curated lists of books that NoveList Plus experts think would make great selections for your book club. From coming-of-age stories to books with great plot twists, NoveList Plus has collected titles on different themes that will lead to lively discussions. There are even Book Club Resources to help make that next discussion easy and engaging.
- Genre Guides: Each genre guide includes a brief definition of the genre and common characteristics, key titles, series, and authors, including foundational, current, and up-and-coming reads.
