And the Award Goes To..., ALA Announces 2008 Youth Media Awards

By Communications Office RSS Mon, January 14, 2008
Today, at its Midwinter Meeting right here in Philadelphia, the American Library Association announced its picks for the best in youth media for the past year--including recipients of the Newbery, Caldecott, King, Schneider Family, and Printz awards. The announcement of Brian Selznick's The Invention of Hugo Cabret as the recipient of the 2008 Caldecott Medal apparently met with "thunderous applause ." Congratulations to Mr. Selznick--and also to all of this year's winners .
