Please join the Kingsessing Library as we celebrate Juneteenth by exploring the history that led to the creation of the Juneteenth celebration, the relationship of the holiday with Black liberatory theory, and the way it has been co-opted in recent years. This interactive discussion will be led by Ismael Jimenez, Social Studies Curriculum Specialist for the School District of Philadelphia.
