This event is a free make-and-take bookbinding workshop organized by local artist Bryn Ziegler as a companion to the launch of her choose-your-path book Don’t Look Into The Abyss. The two-hour workshop will feature multiple stations, each with a simple bookbinding or printing technique. Xue’er Gao and Jessie Solberg will be instructing participants along with Ziegler. 

Xue’er Gao is a recent graduate of the UArts Book Arts & Printmaking MFA. Her studio practice is all about exploration and experimentation. She pushes the boundaries of traditional Chinese art with her innovative and experimental approach to materials and techniques, creating stunning artist books, prints, and three-dimensional forms.

Jessie Solberg is a current student of the UArts Book Arts & Printmaking MFA program. She earned her bachelor’s degree in art at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Her work is based in exploration, education, and finding inspiration in the natural world.
