Join us as we kick off one the longest continously running programs at FLP! Monday Poets 29th season and this year we are back onsite and in the Literature Department on the 2nd floor. Alina Pleskova is a poet, editor, and Moscow-born immigrant turned proud Philadelphian. Her first full-length poetry collection, Toska, was published by Deep Vellum in June 2023. She co-edits bedfellows magazine and is a 2020 and 2022 Leeway Foundation grant awardee, as well as the author of the chapbook, What Urge Will Save Us (Spooky Girlfriend Press, 2017.) Her writing has appeared in American Poetry Review, Peach Mag, Jewish Currents, Dusie, the tiny, and elsewhere. More at: alinapleskova.com
Sadie Dupuis is the guitarist, songwriter & singer of rock band Speedy Ortiz, as well as the producer & multi-instrumentalist behind pop project Sad13. Sadie heads the record label Wax Nine, edits its poetry journal, and is a regular contributor to Spin, Tape Op, Talkhouse, and more. She holds an MFA in poetry from UMass Amherst, where she also taught writing. Mouthguard, her first book, was published in 2018 (Gramma); Cry Perfume, a second poetry collection, was released in 2022 (Black Ocean). She is an organizer with United Musicians & Allied Workers and its local UMAW Philly.
