Sam Calagione is a beer expert and founder of Delaware’s Dogfish Head Craft Brewery, one of America’s fastest growing independent breweries. The star of the Discovery Channel program Brew Masters, he was a Small Business Association Businessman of the Year and a 2010 Huffington Post Game Changer. Anthropology professor Patrick McGovern is the scientific director of the Biomolecular Archaeology Project for Cuisine, Fermented Beverages, and Health at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archeology and Anthropology. In Ancient Brews, Calagione and McGovern blend science and archeology into a globetrotting adventure through time to discover the brews of yore and how they influence today’s beer.
